Abandoned Chinese Factory | Unreal Engine Environment

Abandoned Chinese Factory: overgrown courtyard between concrete buildings, Unreal Engine

An abandoned, overgrown factory complex in Unreal Engine, built by following an in-depth tutorial course to practise the full environment pipeline.

It covers procedural materials made in Substance Designer and previewed in Marmoset Toolbag, decals created in Photoshop and set up in Unreal, custom foliage built in Blender and SpeedTree, and lighting and post effects in Unreal Engine.

Tools: Blender, SpeedTree, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag, Photoshop, Unreal Engine.

Atmosphere

Overgrown courtyards between the factory buildings, dressed with SpeedTree foliage, grass and decals, and lit in Unreal Engine for both sunny and overcast moods.

Modular Kit

One Blender kit of walls, windows, doors, trims and floor pieces, reused to build every building in the scene. The facade and tower blocks below show it assembled in Unreal before set dressing.
